High quality vector files can be created from images that are not suitable for auto-tracing. These types of photo images can only be converted into vector file using manual hand tracing method. The image conversion could take hours or days to complete depending on the complexity level. The conversion process is very labour intensive and hence it is chargeable based on difficulty level of artwork conversion required. The rate of conversion are ranging from RM 80.00 for simple text logo and up to RM 300.00 for complex photo as shown below.

Raster graphics are digital images created or captured (for example, by scanning in a photo or taken from a digital camera device).

A raster file is usually larger than a vector graphics image file. A raster file is usually cannot be edited, changed or modified although there are software tools that can convert a raster file into a vector file for  for refinement and changes. Examples of raster image file types are: BMP, TIFF, GIF, and JPEG files.

Above logo (Quiksilver) is an example of poor resolution logo file with pixilated form. This type of logo cannot be used for printing or engrave as the machine cannot recognise the file and/ or even it can be exposed thru a film making process, the printed result will be unlikely to be accepted.

Text/ Word/ Letter Trace

The best and most reliable method to convert a raster file into vector format is by conventional manual trace. Although there are many auto trace software available in the market, some logos are unable to convert precisely and still requires skilled designers to do the manual edit or touch up.

The manual trace example as shown on left image. There are several popular licensed designing software available in the market such as Adobe Illustrator, Corel draw, SVG-edit, Inkscape and etc.

Logo/ Graphic/ Icon Trace

Logo trace can be a tedious process and time consuming task for a designer in graphical design industry. The level of difficulties goes along with the clarity of the graphic or logo file given by customers. The tracing speed relies on their skill set to visualize and identify the right tool to transform into vector format.

We strongly encourage customer to retrieve the original vector file in editable format from their logo designer/ developer in order to save time and avoid the recurrence of logo conversion cost.
